| Cumberland Caverns is located in the heart of Middle Tennessee, centrally located between Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville. We are located just off of Hwy. 8, six miles southeast of McMinnville via us hwy 70s between Nashville and Knoxville or via hwy 55 from I-24 at Manchester between Nashville and Chattanooga. We are 30 miles west of Fall Creek Falls State Park near Spencer, 20 miles southwest of Rock Island State Park and 25 miles northwest of Savage Gulf State Natural Area (The Stone Door). |
From Nashville: Take Interstate 24 East to Exit 111 at Manchester. This is the McMinnville exit. Take Highway 55 North to McMinnville. Upon reaching Hwy. 70S, head towards Sparta. After driving approximately seven miles, you will see a Cumberland Caverns sign on the right at the Hwy. 30 intersection. Turn here and follow the signs the remainder of the way to the cave.

From Chattanooga: Take Hwy. 27 North out of Chattanooga, follow to Hwy. 111 toward Dunlap. Hwy 111 and 8 combine in Dunlap, continue to follow 111 and 8 until they split. Continue onto Hwy. 8 by turning left . Drive another 19 miles until your descend off of the mountain toward McMinnville. At the base of the mountain, just before the bridge across the Collins River, turn right. Follow Cumberland Caverns signs from here for a short distance toward nearby Cardwell Mountain.

From Knoxville: Take Interstate 40 West to the Hwy. 111 exit at Cookeville. Take Hwy. 111 South towards Sparta. Continue all the way through Sparta until reaching the junction of Hwy. 70S. Take 70S towards McMinnville. About 5 miles from McMinnville, you will see a Cumberland Caverns sign at the junction of Hwy. 30. Turn here and follow the signs the remainder of the way to the cave.
