Prizes : Prizes will be award for the top male and female runners in age groups in the 5K and top male and female in the 1 mile . All runners will receive a tech t-shirt, with our famous caveman along with a cave tour ticket to be used the day of the race or any time you wish! |
The Route : Cumberland Caverns is Tennessee’s largest show cave and a US National Natural Landmark.There will be both a 5K race and 1 mile fun-run.The one mile is a gentle jog to the cave and back.
The 5K is a challenging mix of hilly trails and gravel path and very hilly pavement. You will push yourself on this course. The run starts with a 1 mile of wooded trail and ends with 2 miles of hilly pavement. The course is tough and hilly, not a race to set a new PR on! The race starts with a uphill gravel trail through the woods, leveling off as it circles over the entrance of the cave and then back out to Cumberland Caverns Road. The road part of the race is full of hills and curves with a steep uphill climb at the end of the race. This 5K will kick a caveman’s rear. |
